Hello, how can we help you?

Reverifying your payment information

Quick answer

Adyen, our payment processor, sometimes requires sellers to reverify their information to ensure everything on file is up-to-date. If your reverification fails, your earnings will be on hold until your account has been verified.

When you’re prompted to reverify your information, you can access the verification page through the Update Info button on the red callout banner, or through your Shop Settings page under the Identity Verification tab.

Seller reverification process

Once you get to the Identity Verification page, select the Update your payment information button.

Reverification scenarios

There are two scenarios in which reverification will be requested:

  • Confirmation of your data is required.
  • Your data is incorrect or outdated.

Confirmation of your data is required

  • In this scenario, you’ll see a required action banner on the bottom of the page. Select the Submit button just above the banner.

    Submit
  • You’ll then be required to verify your information under the Personal details, Business details, and Bank account details sections.
  • If all the information is correct, you must:
    • Go to the Submit review of your data section.
    • Check the provided box to confirm the data’s accuracy.
    • Select the Submit review button.

Data is incorrect or outdated

In this scenario, the system has detected that your business setup is invalid. This typically means the selection of Company or Individual is incorrect. If you come across other information that needs correcting, contact Reverb Support for further assistance.

To check your business type, locate Your business setup on the top left of your screen.

If your verification failed, you’ll also see a callout banner in the Business details section. Select this prompt to proceed.

You’ll then see an explanation for the verification failure.

This alert indicates that the currently selected legal entity type is invalid and requires correction.

Why is my business setup suddenly incorrect?

Adyen recently went through some updates, and before the update, it only distinguished between individuals and general businesses. With this update, it’s now required to have the seller’s precise entity type structure (i.e. Individual, Sole proprietorship, Company, Partnership or association).

Sellers who were set up as a Business prior to the update have been defaulted to Private Company, which is often incorrect of the actual entity. Since the update, our system now flags this discrepancy, which causes the verification to fail.

To change your business setup:

  • Go to the main verification page and select the pencil icon to the right of Your business setup.
  • On the next page, you can select your correct legal entity type.
  • Once the new legal entity type is selected, you’ll be required to re-enter all associated personal and business details.
