Hello, how can we help you?

How to report messages to Reverb

Quick answer

While Reverb works hard to keep our community safe by actively monitoring for fraud, you can play a part by flagging suspicious messages. To do this, select Report message on the bottom right of the message. The data from these flagged messages not only alerts us to potential bad actors, but also helps strengthen our fraud detection tools.

To report a message:

  • When you are in the message thread, select the Report Message button. This option appears on every message and is available to both buyers and sellers.

  • Select a reason for reporting the message. There are three options to choose from:
  1. Fraud: Select this if a user displays suspicious behavior that might lead you to believe they’re a bad actor. Learn about scam or phishing emails and messages.
  2. Abuse: Select this  if a user expresses vulgar/offensive language, or any abusive behavior, towards you.
  3. Off-site/unprotected transaction: Select this if a user is encouraging or urging you to pay them outside of the Reverb platform.
  • Once selected, click Submit.

  • After you report a message, you will see that reflected on the message thread. Only one message can be reported per message thread.
