Will Reverb staff contact me via direct message through the Reverb messaging platform?
Reverb will only communicate with users via our Support channels, such as live chat and email. Reverb will never contact you via text or SMS message, or via on-site messaging or offers.
If you are contacted via the Reverb messaging platform from an individual claiming to be affiliated with Reverb, report the message and notify Reverb Support immediately.
How does Reverb secure sensitive information?
All bank account information, tax identification numbers and date of birth are transferred to Reverb using Transport Layer Security technology (TLS) and encrypted using AES-256.
All credit card information is transferred to Reverb using Transport Layer Security technology (TLS). Reverb does not store full payment card information, only tokens returned to us by our payment processors.
Why was my phone number or email address redacted?
Reverb may redact sensitive information from messages for your own protection. The most secure way to communicate about Reverb transactions is via Reverb's messaging system, while ensuring all payment information is submitted through Reverb’s platform.
We work hard to keep our community safe and having a record of all communication between buyers and sellers ensures that we can provide the best service if an issue arises.
What information do apps I install have access to and what actions can they take on my behalf?
When you install and authorize each app, the app will list the information which they are requesting access to and the actions that it can take on your behalf (e.g. leaving feedback for you).
If you uninstall an app, that app no longer has access to any information related to your Reverb account. Apps should never ask you for your account password and will never have access to sensitive data such as your password, bank account information, or PayPal password.
