Why did you move drum machines and samplers into keyboards and synths?
We’ve heard the community loud and clear - drum and percussion shoppers typically don’t want to see drum machines, while keyboard and synths shoppers are more likely to be interested in them. By changing the way our categories are structured, we're getting drum machine and sampler products in front of the right buyers more often.
Why did you separate drum machines from samplers, instead of keeping them in the same category?
While many drum machine products are also samplers, and many samplers can be used like drum machines, there are some products which only fall into one bucket or the other. Separating the subcategories makes it easier for buyers to filter down to exactly the type of products they want to see.
I use an API integration or Reverb’s Bulk Inventory Management tool - what do I need to do?
If you use a custom API integration to list directly to Reverb.com:
- In this scenario, ensure that as of June 29, 2023 you are no longer utilizing the old product category name or UUID on any products, or your inventory sync may cause errors. You will need to apply a new product category and corresponding product type to your SKUs accordingly. More details on the new category UUIDs can be found in our API documentation Changelog.
If you use CSV imports to create and manage listings on Reverb:
- In this scenario, please make sure that as of June 29, 2023 your CSV file no longer utilizes the old product category.
If you use a pre-built integrations app or plugin to create and manage your listings on Reverb:.
- In this scenario, if you are using an app built by Reverb, head to the Category Mapping tab in the integration app, resync the categories and adjust the category mapping of your software to the new categories and product type listed above. If you are using an integration developed by a third-party, please contact your integration provider for next steps.
I use the Reverb website or mobile app - what do I need to do to update my listings?
Nothing - Reverb has automatically re-categorized any affected listings. For newly-created listings, the new subcategories are available to select in the sell form as of June 29, 2023. When creating a listing, first choose the “Keyboards and Synths” Product Type, and then select either “Drum Machines” or “Samplers” in the Subcategory dropdown.
What about listings that are both drum machines AND samplers?
Reverb allows up to two subcategories per product, so any listings which fall into both can simply be added to both.
