How-To: Install Google Tag Manager and Generate Container ID

Google Tag Manager is a tag management system created by Google to manage JavaScript and HTML tags used for tracking and analytics on websites. Users also have the ability to add custom HTML tags to their website using this advanced integration. Sites users can create a free Google Tag Manager account here and they should send the generated  “container ID” to sites@reverb.com so we can add the tag to your website. (How-To Article Below)

To install Google Tag Manager and generate the Container ID:

  1. Create an account, or use an existing account, at tagmanager.google.com.
    1. A new container is created by default and you can create additional containers within each account.
  2. In Tag Manager, click "Workspace."
  3. Near the top of the window, find your container ID, formatted as “GTM-XXXXXX”.
  4. Click your container ID to launch the Install TagManager box.
  5. Copy and paste the container ID: (GTM-XXXXXX) and send it over!

A Reverb Sites team member will send this to a developer and let you know once you're Google Tag Manager is installed using your Reverb Site
