Hello, how can we help you?

How do I keep my Reverb account safe?

Your account security checklist

Use the following list to help keep your Reverb account protected.

check-square.svg Use a strong password that you don't use for other websites.

One of the most common ways hackers take over accounts is by exploiting passwords. Online resources like haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords can help you determine if one of your passwords has been exposed in a data breach. If you're worried about remembering your password, we suggest using a password manager.

check-square.svg Communicate and transact on Reverb.

Keep sales and communication on Reverb to qualify for Reverb Protection. Keep in mind that Reverb will never text you about submitting or completing a payment, nor will our staff contact you via Reverb’s messaging platform.

Bank/Wire Transfers are not supported by Reverb. Payment for a Reverb order should never be submitted via this method.

check-square.svg Don’t interact with suspicious messages.

Look for telltale signs of a phishing email, especially poor spelling and grammar or links requesting your password, bank account details, or credit card number. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with phishing email scams and how to recognize them here: http://www.onguardonline.gov/phishing.

More advanced phishing scams will attempt to replicate Reverb imagery or language. Don't take any communication you've received at face value.

check-square.svg Make sure you’re on an official Reverb domain.

When entering sensitive information, such as your email address or password, make sure you're on an official domain. Reverb will never ask you to enter sensitive information on domains outside of reverb.com.

check-square.svg Safeguard your devices.

To help shield your devices and accounts from hackers and viruses, perform regular maintenance on your phone, tablet, and computer, including these best practices:

  • Clear old devices. When switching to a new device, delete any personal information and reset your old device to its original, factory settings.
  • Change preset passwords. Change the name of your wireless network—as well as any preset passwords that come with your router—to something unique.
  • Update, update, update. Keep all software, including virus protection software, up-to-date. Be sure to use the most current version of the Reverb app when managing your Reverb account.

check-square.svg Keep your contact details up to date.

Ensuring your email address is up to date means you’ll be able to reset your password and receive important notifications emails from Reverb, such as alerts related to unusual logins or account changes, even if you’re taking a break from selling.

check-square.svg Limit access to your account.

It’s also a good idea to limit access to your account to only those who truly need to use it. This will protect it from changes you didn’t authorize, such as accidental password resets.

check-square.svg Keep financial and tax information up to date.

Regularly reviewing your payment and billing details means you’ll know right away if suspicious or unfamiliar information appears in your account. You can view and update your financial information at any time by visiting your Shop Settings.

While you’re at it, make sure your taxpayer information is complete and accurate. Verifying this information will help prevent your account from being flagged by Reverb’s payment controls, meaning fewer surprises for you. Plus, reviewing and verifying tax information periodically throughout the year means you’ll be prepared when it comes time to file taxes on your earnings.

What should I do if I think my account is compromised?

If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised or notice any unusual activity or emails from Reverb, you should contact us with those details. Our team can verify if emails were authentic and provide guidance on next steps.
