How does combined shipping work?
Combined shipping allows you to offer discounted shipping rates to your buyers when they purchase multiple items from your shop, encouraging them to buy more from you. When a buyer has multiple items from your shop in their cart, they pay full shipping on the item with the most expensive rate, then your discounted combined rate on each additional item.
Create custom shipping profiles for combined shipping
- Head to your Shipping page.
- Select Create New Profile or click this link.
- Select Enable Combine & Save Shipping.
- Enter in your combined shipping rates under Combine & Save Rate.
- Enter all other necessary information.
- Select Save Profile.
Utilizing CSVs to apply combined shipping in bulk
If you are a seller with a lot of live listings, or you just wish to edit more listings in bulk, our Manage Inventory page is where you will want to start.
How to export your listings
- Head to your Manage Inventory page.
- Select Export Your Listings.
- Check the email address associated with your Reverb account and open the email labeled Your Reverb listings export is here!.
- Select Download Export within the email above.
How to apply/edit your combined shipping profiles to your CSV
- Open the CSV you received from the steps above.
- Locate the column labeled shipping_profile_name.
- Fill in the shipping profile name you wish to use.
- Save the CSV (choose a file name you will remember).
How to import your new CSV to apply to your listings
Now that you've created your new combined shipping profiles, exported your CSV, applied/edited your combined shipping profiles, and saved the new CSV, it's time to get these profiles live.
- Head to your Manage Inventory page.
- Select Choose CSV File.
- Open the new CSV file with your shipping profiles applied.
- You will now receive another email letting you know if the import was a success or if there were any errors in the process.
FAQs
What does the "Set free shipping" option do?
By setting the combined shipping rate to zero, or checking “set free shipping”, you can encourage buyers to add additional items to their cart without increasing the shipping cost.
How does combined shipping work when an offer is made?
When a negotiated item ships in combination with something else, we will apply whatever is cheaper between its negotiated/combined shipping price.
In cases where you have negotiated a higher shipping cost to account for special shipping arrangements, (such as next-day air mail), we will respect the increased shipping cost for this item in checkout, even if the rates in your shipping profile are cheaper.
Where is combined shipping advertised for buyers?
Buyers can find callouts for “Combine & Save” shipping on item pages, in their carts, and while they are in checkout. This is also promoted while browsing your shop page.
