The Postal Service will temporarily suspend international mail acceptance of specific mail classes for New Zealand and Australia effective October 1, 2021 until further notice due to service impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Customers are asked to refrain from mailing the following services to New Zealand and Australia until further notice:
- Priority Mail International (PMI)
- First-Class Package International Service (FCPIS)
For deposited items (PMI and FCPIS), the Postal Service will endorse the items as "Mail Service Suspended — Return to Sender" and place them in the mail stream for return to sender.
The only available option for package shipments is Express Mail International (EMI). First-Class Mail International letters and flats are also still being accepted for delivery. However, there may be delays.
